According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): “Influenza activity is high across most of the United States according to CDC’s latest FluView report. CDC continues to recommend influenza vaccination for people who have not yet been vaccinated this season and antiviral treatment as early as possible for people who get sick and are at high risk of flu complications.”

Current  headlines read, “Flu Epidemic in U.S., Twenty Children Dead in US Flu Epidemic, Schools Closed Due to Prevent Epidemic, etc.”  New CDC figures show the United States flu outbreak has reached the point of an epidemic.  Influenza has been reported in forty-seven states, and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of New York has declared a state of emergency in New York.
