Action Alert: NAHC Requests That Your Representatives Cosign the Letter to CMS Opposing Prior Authorization Proposal

Posted on Monday, May 16, 2016 8:16 PM

NAHC is asking that everyone reach out to their members of the U.S. House of Representatives, requesting them to take action in cosigning the letter that has been dispersed by Congressmen Tom Price (R-GA-6) and James P. McGovern (D-MA-2). The letter is urging CMS to repeal its prior authorization proposal for Medicare home health care services.

Prior Authorization would result in the following:
• Delays in patient access to services and disruptions in the stability of patient care
• Increased risks for the patient during the transition from an inpatient setting in terms of infection, medication errors, and other factors
• Rise in health care costs for providers and Medicare

Previously, NAHC submitted comments on the proposal here.
