The BPC Long-Term Care initiative released a report titled “Initial Recommendations to Improve the Financing of Long-Term Care,” which contained recommendations to provide states with the following:

  • More flexibility to offer home and community based services under Medicaid
  • Recommendations to the establishment of a federal insurance program for catastrophic long-term care
  • Goals for more affordable options for private long-term care insurance

The report was established by the co-chairs of BPC’s Long-Term Care Initiative. The agreement by BPC on these approvals is remarkable because it proves growing bipartisan support for the increased use of HCBS under Medicaid as a means of improving long-term care. For the full article, click here.
