According to a new survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New England reported to have the highest rate of seniors that use home health, compared to seniors anywhere else in the United States, while seniors in Alaska and Hawaii are less likely to use home health care.
Based on 2014 data from CDC’s, the report determined the top two states that have the highest rate of seniors that use home health care:
• Massachusetts came in with 133.85 out of 1000 persons 65 years of age or older
• Rhode Island came in at 125.91 out of 1000 seniors using home care
The report also determined the two states that were least likely to use home care include the following:
• Hawaii came in with only 27.02 out of 1000 Hawaiian seniors
• Alaska came in with only 28.72 of 1000 Alaskan seniors
• South Dakota came in with only 33.35 out of 1000 seniors
