CMS Posts Hospice Quality Reporting Program Deadlines and Updates

The freeze date for the Hospice Item Set (HIS) to be included in the quality measure calculations for the February 2019 Hospice Compare refresh is November 15, 2018.All HIS records, including modifications/corrections and inactivations, need to be submitted and accepted by the Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system by 11:59:59 p.m. E.T. November 15, 2018 to be reflected in the Hospice Provider Preview Report that will be available on December 3, 2018. 

An updated version of the “Getting Started with the HQRP” Fact Sheet is now available for download. Providers should review this updated fact sheet for information and resources related to requirements for the Hospice Item Set (HIS) and Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems® (CAHPS®).

The data submission deadline for patients that passed away in April, May and June 2018 (Quarter 2 2018) is November 14, 2018Survey vendors are responsible for successfully submitting files by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on November 14, 2018. Please make sure to allow adequate time to submit data in case resubmissions are necessary.
