CMS Presented Medicare Spending Per Beneficiary—Post Acute Care Resource Use Measures Specifications

CMS has posted the measure qualifications for the MSPB-PAC Resource Use Measures. The IMPACT Act supports the Secretary to advance “resource use measures, including total estimated Medicare spending per beneficiary” with the PAC settings for SNFs, HHAs, LTCHs and IRFs. The purpose of the MSPB-PAC measures is based on the following:

  • Support public reporting of resource use in all four PAC provider settings
  • Deliver efforts to promote care coordination for PAC providers’
  • Improve the efficiency of care provided to their patients
