The CY 2016 Hospice Utilization and Payment Public Use File (PUF) contains information on utilization, payment, submitted charges, primary diagnoses, sites of service, and hospice beneficiary demographics organized by CMS Certification Number (6-digit provider identification number), and by state.
The data contained in the Hospice PUF covers calendar year 2016 and contains 100% final-action hospice claims for the Medicare population including beneficiaries enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan. The PUF does not contain information on the quality of hospice care.
The Hospice PUF contains two spreadsheets:
- Aggregated information by provider: Aggregated information by provider: Medicare Provider Aggregate Table, CY 2016, Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), and
- Aggregated information by state: https://corridorgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/attachments/Hospice_State_Table_2016.zip
