CMS issued CR 10874 which requires HHAs to submit reconsiderations for quality reporting payment reductions to the MACs electronically starting September 11, 2018.
“If a HHA does not submit required quality data, annual payment updates (APU) for the year are reduced by 2 percentage points. The quality data of HHAs includes the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) submission for each year for episodes beginning on or after July 1 of the previous year, and before July 1, of the current year, and the Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) monthly data collection and submission from April 1 of the prior year through March 31 of the current year.”
HHAs can request reconsideration to the MAC if they think the 2% APU reduction is an error. The request must contain a letter requesting reconsideration and provide documentation proving compliance. This must all be submitted electronically and received within 30 days of the MAC notification.
