Medicare-certified home health agencies that served 59 or fewer unduplicated patients between April 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018 and met the Home Health CAHPS survey eligibility criteria can complete a Participation Exemption Request. The exemption is for the CY2020 annual payment update. The participation exemption is good for one year only, and the deadline to submit the PER is April 1, 2019.
If you believe that you are exempt, you do not need to participate in the HHCAHPS Survey for the CY 2020 APU HHCAHPS Survey data collection period, which runs from April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019.
You need to provide a count of your agency’s HHCAHPS-eligible patients served between April 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018. The PER form below will help you do this. Please see the instructions below.
