CMS contracted TMF Health Quality Institute Issues Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Reports (PEPPERs) for hospice, home health, and several other Medicare-certified provider types. The PEPPER Report provides organization specific data for care patterns that could be risk areas for improper payment, and data at the state, MAC jurisdiction and national levels for comparison.
The National Hospice PEPPER Retrieval Rate is 59.5% and for Home Health it is 26.9%. Home health and hospice organizations are urged to review their 2018 PEPPER Report.
