Mileage Study Press Conference Highlights

The Foundation for Hospice and Homecare and NAHC held a press conference on December 16, 2015 to discuss the findings of a study that nurses, therapists and home care aids who serve chronically ill, elderly and disable patients drive almost 8 billion miles each year. Karen Marshall Thompson is the Director of Home Health Services at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She led the press conference to discuss the need for wound care provided by nurses. Thompson explained that most of her nurses travel more than an hour to provide assistance to their patients and most visits last longer than an hour in length. For the full article, click here.
