Ahead of the start of the Patient Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), NAHC met with regulatory experts from trade associations who represent physical, occupational and speech therapists. The meeting targeted advocacy efforts to mitigate the harmful parts of PDGM to ensure that patients continue to receive their home health benefits. It also focused on common myths about PDGM and worked to ensure a better education about the new payment model.
NAHC will continue to work with therapy groups to obtain data and provide education on what is observed across the industry with regard to therapy utilization, best practices, and common trends to continue to help with the growing pains that will inevitably come. The goal is to maximize providers experience under PDGM while also ensuring optimal patient outcomes, and the efficient application of therapy services.
