OSHA enforces organizations with more than 10 employees to maintain a record of occupational injuries and illnesses that occur on the job. In the event of an inspection, the agencies are required to present each documentation to OSHA.

To be exact, the organization must present these records with each employee injury and illness on the “Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses” (OSHA Form 300) or an equivalent form called “Injury and Illness Incident Report” (OSHA Form 301). Each agency must prepare and post a “Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses” (OSHA Form 300A) on annual basis, requiring that this form is visible to the entire workplace.
