The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued the 2019 proposed rate update rule for home health agencies on July 2, 2018. In the rule, CMS proposes rate updates for 2019, a new payment model to begin in 2020, revisions to the home health value-based purchasing model, the addition of a new home infusion therapy benefit, updates to the physician certification and recertification requirements, along with several other policy changes.
