CMS, through MACs, recently mailed letters to Medicare Fee-for-Service providers about the new Medicare numbers/cards, set to begin in April 2018. CMS wants to ensure patients have continuous access to care and that providers have the information necessary for a smooth transition. Beginning in June, providers will be able to look up patient Medicare numbers through MAC’s secure website.
Providers can view a sample letter and print-friendly fact sheet.
