CMS announced that RCD would start again for participating states on August 3rd, home-based care providers were angry and began writing letters begging CMS to change their decision.
“Currently, RCD is supposed to begin again on Aug. 3. Originally, the thought was that as long as a public health emergency persisted, CMS would continue its suspension of RCD. But the public health emergency has been extended to at least Oct. 23, and CMS — as of now — is planning on moving forward with the demonstration despite that extension.”
The strain on the healthcare system during the pandemic is hitting home-based care providers hard enough, adding RCD, they feel, is just too much during a time of crisis.
