CMS’ Proposed Revisions To Hospice Cost Report For SNF-Based Agencies Now Online

Posted on Thursday, May 28, 2015 9:09 AM

CMS has posted the proposed revisions to the skilled nursing facility (SNF) based hospice cost report. On May 1, 2015, CMS published notice in the Federal Register that proposed revisions to the Skilled Nursing Facility and Skilled Nursing Facility Health Care Complex Cost Report would be made available for review with a 60-day period for submission of public comments on the changes. CMS is expected to announce a second, 30-day public comment period once the initial 60-day comment period closes. CMS has been revising cost reporting requirements for hospices as part of its efforts to secure more detailed data from hospice programs to support payment reform. The first set of revisions (applicable to freestanding hospices) dramatically expanded reporting requirements and became effective with cost reporting years beginning on or after October 1, 2014. CMS is proposing that these changes for SNF-based hospices would also apply to cost reporting years beginning on or after October 1, 2014. Click here to read more.
