With seniors receiving better care at home through telemedicine, the main question of concern is whether or not these older adults support this new trend. The answer is quite simple, they are not too accepting of these new health and wellness wearable monitors.
The older adults have been offered training to use wearable technology, either online or in-person, to teach them how to use smartphones, laptops and tablets. However, this may be an issue for many seniors. “I am quite old and new technological gadgets seem to be programmed by young people who grew up with computers and, consequently, assume that the user will know what to do in a confusing situation,” a respondent older than 85 said.
More than 60% of respondents said they weren’t willing to pay for these technologies on a monthly basis. However, more than 10% said they already do.
