NAHC Encourages Hospice Participation in CMS’ MCCM Survey

Phase one of CMS’s launch of the MCCM survey to test a new payment model began in 2016.  Under this model, Medicare beneficiaries can receive some services from hospice while they are also receiving curative treatment for their terminal conditions.  The next phase is currently scheduled to start in 2018.

“Last week CMS launched a separate survey that is being sent to a select sample of approximately 275 hospice programs that are NOT participating in the MCCM so that CMS can compare the findings against those for the participating hospices.  As part of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice’s (NAHC) efforts to support the MCCM and ensure the most accurate findings possible from the model, we are encouraging hospices that are contacted by CMS about the survey to participate in the effort.”
