CMS is extending the deadline for appellants to submit an expression of interest(EOI) for the Low Volume Appeals(LVA) Initiative until June 8, 2018. Appellants who meet the eligibility requirements should submit the EOI between April 12, 2018 thru June 8, 2018.
As we detailed here, CMS began the LVA Initiative to help address the enormous backlog of Medicare appeals that are waiting for resolution.
“Given the length of time that it is taking for Medicare appeals to be resolved, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) encourages eligible providers to examine the LVA Initiative as a potential option for addressing outstanding claim disputes.”
