According to the PEPPER Resources distribution schedule TMF will distribute the Q4CY17 Home Health Agency PEPPER Report on or about July 16th. The Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER) is an educational tool for providers which supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ efforts to protect the Medicare Trust fund.
This report provides home health specific data for service patterns that are potential risk areas for improper payment, and data at the state, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) jurisdiction, and national levels for comparison. This past month, the PEPPER retrieval rate for Home Health was 35.9% while the Hospice PEPPER report released in April is at 55.8% retrieval.
TMF Health Quality Institute has developed numerous tools to help home health providers gain a clearer understanding of the implications of the PEPPER report. They will be hosting an informational webinar on July 25th.
