President Biden released his “American Rescue Plan” stimulus package last week, and some things will benefit home care operators, while other parts could hurt the industry.
His plan puts $400 billion to increase COVID-19 testing and the speed at which vaccines are distributed, coupled with $350 billion for state and local governments, would be generally helpful for home-based care providers. However, the increase in the unemployment benefit and a potential increase in the minimum wage could make staffing even harder than it has been.
