In April, CMS announced that they were expanding the supplemental benefits that Medicare Advantage Plans could offer to their beneficiaries. The additional benefits were: adult day care services, home-based palliative care, in-home support services, support for care givers of enrollees, medically-approved non-opioid pain management, stand-alone memory fitness benefit, home and bathroom safety devices and modifications, transportation and over-the-counter benefits.
Milliman surveyed MA providers to find out how many were going to incorporate into their offerings. In total, 102 plans implemented one of the new benefits, no plans incorporated more than one.
