Biden Admin Taps Obama Veteran Liz Fowler to Run CMMI

The Biden administration has announced the appointment of Liz Fowler to serve as administrator of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), a part of the CMS. The position of CMMI Administrator does not require Senate approval.

Fowler is a veteran of the Obama administration, where she served as a special assistant to President Barack Obama on health care and economic policy at the National Economic Council. Fowler also served as deputy director of policy in CMS’ Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight Office.
