CMS has announced the award of the A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for Jurisdiction M, formally Jurisdiction 11, to Palmetto GBA for the administration of Medicare Part A and Part B Fee-for-Service (FFS) claims as well as the Home Health & Hospice (HH&H) Region C service area. Palmetto GBA is the MAC for Medicare Part A and Part B FFS claims in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina. Palmetto GBA is also the HH&H for Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Providers should not see any change in the MAC’s work since Palmetto GBA is the incumbent contractor for MAC Jurisdiction 11. Current MAC workload numbers will stay the same.
