CMS Implements Hospice NOE Edit for FISS

With the recent filling requirements for Notices of Election (NOE) and Notices of Termination/Revocation (NOTR), CMS issued Change Request 9575/Transmittal 3502, instructing the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to allow edits within the FISS for hospice NOEs submitted without a principal diagnosis listed.

Once the edit has been approved, hospice agencies will be informed that the NOE submitted does not contain a principal diagnosis. The CR has an implementation date of October 3, 2016.
