Deadline Extended on Cosigning the Letter to CMS Opposing Prior Authorization Proposal

NAHC is asking that everyone reach out to their members of the U.S. House of Representatives to take action in cosigning the letter that has been dispersed by Congressmen Tom Price (R-GA-6) and James P. McGovern (D-MA-2). The letter is urging CMS to repeal its prior authorization proposal for Medicare home health care services.

The deadline to sign the letter has been extended to today, Tuesday, May 24. The following steps need to be taken immediately:
• Act fast using NAHC’s Legislative Action Center to contact your member of the U.S. House, confirming that they sign the letter
• Recruit as many members of the U.S. House to sign the letter
• Ensure that each member understands the concerns of the home health care community regarding this proposal

CMS delivered a Paperwork Reduction Act Notice, containing information to organize a system of “prior authorization” on all home health services in five states. The proposal could easily expand to additional states, threatening Medicare beneficiaries and home health agencies.
