Dr. Landers has been a family and geriatric medicine doctor for over a decade. He is also medical director, advisor, researcher, author, speaker and consultant in the home health industry.
A recent article on The Hill outlines Dr. Landers thoughts on HHGM. “HHGM is a totally untested and unpredictable, ivory tower top-down Washington science project being foist on America’s most vulnerable seniors and the home care nurses and caregivers they so deeply need and appreciate,” said Landers.
He agrees with many others that this will aggressively cut home health payments at a time when we need to be strengthening our resources as we prepare for over 80 million baby boomers.
He does believe new ideas are needed and HHGM could be worthy of piloting, but could be devastating to implement it without testing it first.
