Every April, TMF Health Quality Institute issues Hospice Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER). This report provides hospice specific data for service patterns that are potential risk areas for improper payment, and data at the state, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) jurisdiction, and national levels for comparison. This past month, the PEPPER retrieval rate has risen to 53.3% from 42.5%. Hospices are encouraged to download their April 2018 PEPPER and review areas that may need closer attention.
