House of Representatives Passes the 21St Century CURES Bill

On November 30, the 21st Century CURES bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 392-26. The Senate plans to pass the bill before adjourning for the year.

The legislation includes the following provisions that directly impact home care:
• A required report on the expanded use of telehealth services and the barriers to such technology in Medicare
• New Medicare coverage of home infusion therapy
• Mandatory use of Electronic Visit Verification in Medicaid personal care and home health services
• Application of moratoria based on the site of services rather than the location of the provider

The 21st Century CURES Bill plans to invest time and money into public health and medical research over the next decade.
