Improved EHR Adoption Rates with NPPs

The study, “EHR Adoption Among Ambulatory Care Teams,” was published in the American Journal of Managed Care (available here). The study determined that non-physician practitioners (NPPs) are adapting the electronic health records (EHR) at a 60% more effective rate compared to practices that do not employ NPPs. The study supports the findings that hiring NPPs result in superior communication and the discipline of patient safety in the healthcare professions. NAHC recently completed a survey to support the findings that NPPs are a positive impact in home care (to view the report, see previous NAHC Report). To read the full article, click here.
