Legislation Passed: Ensuring Access to Quality Medicaid Providers Act

The Ensuring Access to Quality Medicaid Providers Act was unanimously passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 2, requiring states to terminate health care providers that have been dismissed by Medicare, another state Medicaid program, or CHIP for motives of fraud, integrity, or quality. The bill requires state Medicaid programs to identify and submit to the Secretary of HHS the name, type, and specialty of providers terminated from Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP.
