NAHC held a press conference regarding home care and hospice staff mileage for the state of Maine. The results concluded the staff travels 3.1 million miles, providing 157,000 home visits and hospice visits each year and assisting over 1,200 patients on any given day. Lisa Harvey-McPherson, the VP for Government Relations and Chief Advocacy Officer at Eastern Maine Homecare in Brewer, Maine, provided the challenges and realities of home care and hospice services throughout Maine.
