A new version of OASIS, OASIS-C2, goes into effect January 1, 2017. OASIS-C2 is the result of the IMPACT ACT for standardization of key data elements across post-acute settings. Agencies rely on accurate OASIS assessments to assist in providing the proper services, quality care and to receive accurate reimbursement for the services they provide. Understanding the OASIS conventions, intent, rationale and the importance of accurate assessment will assist in driving improved patient outcomes. Positive patient outcomes are the #1 goal – but also outcomes are publicly reported on Home Health Compare and impact the Quality of Patient Care STAR Rating.
Make sure you prepare your clinicians with the information they need to be successful and they understand OASIS – including:
• New OASIS items
• Revised response guidance
• Updated conventions
• Overall formatting changes
