NAHC President Val J. Halamandaris introduced Stephanie Crawford, a Nurse Practitioner at the Visiting Nurses Association in Rockford, Illinois. Ms. Crawford explained the importance of the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act, which allows non-physician practitioners to confirm Medicare home health plans for those who need it. Patients with advanced illnesses continue to prove how difficult it would be for them to ever leave their home. Therefore, Ms. Crawford explained the importance of each home visit, which is to prevent any type of hospitalization and to catch things before the patients end up in a critical state.
