Providers Using Telehealth to Break into Home Health Care

Posted on Saturday, March 16, 2019 8:08 PM

According to a new report from Business Insider Intelligence, more providers are trying to move into the home health care market, and they are using telehealth and business partners to help accomplish their goal.

With spending projected to reach $173 billion by 2026, “providers that don’t develop home health care infrastructure risk falling behind the nearly half of health firms already investing in new tools and care models to deliver home-based care,” the report states. “Providers are making key investments in analytics, telehealth and staffing to prepare for the rise of home healthcare and stave off competition in the space.”

The report found that: home-based care is a growing market for health systems and hospitals, the home health care market is driven to manage healthcare costs and readmission rates, telehealth is an important component and that providers need to make telehealth and staffing investments now to carve their stake in the marketplace.
