Walgreens is planning to close around 600 stores as part of a $4.38 billion dollar deal to buy Rite Aid.
The closings will start next spring and be completed over 18 months. The deal included around 2,000 Rite Aid stores. The majority of the closings will be Rite Aid stores within a mile of a Walgreens.
